American Sign Language Interpretation (ASL with VRI)
Visual Communication at your Fingertips
ASL Communication is a Requirement
Federal civil rights laws require covered entities to ensure effective communication with people who are deaf or hard of hearing. For people who communicate primarily in American Sign Language (ASL), qualified interpreter services are necessary.
On-Demand Remote ASL Interpretation
When in-person, on-site sign language interpreting services are not immediately available, technology now provides for an interim solution in the form of video remote interpreting services (VRI). ICD Interpretation uses videoconferencing technology, equipment, a connection with sufficient bandwidth to provide the services of a qualified ASL interpreter. VRI is currently being used in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, physicians’ offices, mental health care settings, police stations, schools, financial institutions, and workplaces.

ICD Interpretation’s ASL with VRI Service Benefits:
- Provide on demand visual support with enhanced accuracy for the fifteen (15) most common languages and American Sign Language (ASL).
- 1080p high resolution video, and more than 30 fps.
- VRI allows users to see the facial expressions of the interpreter and know they understood what was said.
- Confirm the meaning of non-verbal communication.
